Myria Shuts Down L2 Operations and Players Have Nine Days to Act

April 17, 2026

Myria officially halted its Layer 2 node operations on April 13, 2026, and gave users until April 27 to bridge all assets from L2 to Ethereum L1. Miss the deadline and your assets become permanently inaccessible. Nine days is not a lot of runway.

What Did Myria Actually Announce?

On April 13, the Myria team sent a tweet and an email. That was the full communication package. No migration guide, no video walkthrough, no dedicated support resources. Just a short message stating that L2 node operations were ending and a hard deadline of April 27 for all asset bridging.

The company framed it as a strategic pivot toward "a more streamlined, L1-native infrastructure that better supports game developers." Whether that framing lands depends on how much you paid for a node license. Those were priced at $6,400 each, with some sold close to this announcement date.

Myria also stated that for "security reasons" it cannot assist directly with the bridging process. Operators who bought into this ecosystem must navigate the migration themselves, with whatever documentation they can locate on their own.

Why Did the MYRIA Token Lose Nearly Everything?

The token collapse is not the cause of this shutdown. It is the outcome of the underlying economics. MYRIA reached an all-time high around $0.01668 in mid-2024. By April 2026, it had lost 99.69% of that value. Daily node rewards of 1,108 MYRIA tokens now amount to roughly $0.045. Running server infrastructure to earn four and a half cents a day is not a business model anyone can justify.

The 50 billion total token supply compounded the problem from the start. A project trying to sustain a node operator ecosystem on a token with that level of dilution pressure was working against itself from launch. When speculative demand evaporated, the unit economics of running a node became impossible to defend.

Metric Value
MYRIA all-time high ~$0.01668 (mid-2024)
Token decline since ATH 99.69%
Daily node reward 1,108 MYRIA tokens
Daily reward in USD (April 2026) ~$0.045
Node license cost $6,400
Total MYRIA supply 50 billion tokens
Asset bridge deadline April 27, 2026

How Do You Bridge Assets From Myria L2 to L1?

Myria support documentation covers the migration process between L1 and L2. The basic flow requires connecting your wallet to the Myria platform, accessing the bridge interface, and initiating a withdrawal from L2 to L1. Standard Ethereum L1 gas fees apply on exit.

Node emission tokens that had not yet been distributed will be sent directly to node owners registered Ethereum L1 wallets within three to five business days of the April 13 announcement. Those do not require manual action. Assets already sitting in your L2 wallet are a different matter and require you to move them before the deadline.

The practical advice is to act now rather than later. Nine days sounds manageable until you account for potential gas price spikes, possible website congestion if operators rush to exit simultaneously in the final 48 hours, and the reality that Myria support capacity is unlikely to scale up as the deadline approaches.

How Does Myria Compare to Ronin and Immutable?

Not every gaming blockchain is in the same position. Ronin, the chain behind Axie Infinity, is also moving toward Ethereum L2 but from a position of genuine strength. Ronin grew to 419,000 active wallets per day and attracted competing bids from Arbitrum and Optimism when it announced its L2 migration timeline. That is what an orderly transition from a chain with real players looks like.

Immutable zkEVM saw NFT trading volume jump 507% to $27.2 million after Gods Unchained fully migrated. Gaming chains that built actual player bases and maintained developer ecosystems are doing fine in 2026. The ones that relied on node operator speculation as their primary revenue model are not.

Network Status (April 2026) Key Metric
Myria Shutting down L2 operations MYRIA token down 99.69%
Ronin Migrating to Ethereum L2 419,000 active wallets per day
Immutable zkEVM Active and growing NFT trading volume up 507%

What Does the Myria Situation Tell You About Gaming Layer 2s?

Selling node licenses as an investment product is a funding mechanism that only works while the token holds value. When token prices fall, node operators stop seeing returns, stop advocating for the project, and start asking questions about governance and accountability. At 99.69% down, there are no more questions. There is just a deadline and a migration guide nobody provided.

The gaming chains surviving in 2026 are the ones with games people actually play and ecosystems that generate real on-chain activity. Infrastructure businesses positioned as gaming platforms are a different product category entirely. That distinction is becoming harder to ignore each quarter as projects either grow real user bases or collapse under their own token economics.

Some platforms have already internalized this. CryptoCasino.Vegas processes on-chain activity directly against a live gaming layer, where user engagement generates the transaction volume that justifies the infrastructure. There is no node reward scheme sitting on top of a depreciating token. The blockchain is the settlement layer, not the investment pitch.

What Myria Players and Node Operators Should Do Before April 27

If you hold assets on Myria L2, bridge them to Ethereum L1 before April 27, 2026. Use the official Myria bridge interface available through their support documentation. Verify that your registered L1 wallet address is correct for the automatic node emission token distribution. Do not wait for the final days when network congestion and gas fees will likely spike.

If you are evaluating other gaming chains going forward, the Myria situation is a useful filter. Ask whether a chain's economics depend on speculative node operator demand or on actual sustained game activity. One of those two models survives a bear market. The history of 2024 to 2026 has made clear which one it is.
